Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) we all use this inside the mobile phones. Now days, e-sim playing a great role, though it is a embedded sim not a sim card it is present inside your phone.
In India all the premium brands have option of e-sim. i Phones, samsung have option of e-sim apart from that you will find this option in Google Pixel too.

As we all know we are using sim cards in a phone from a very long time. Earlier we used to have big sim cards then micro sim cards took over them and after that size of sim cards reduced even more which is called nano sim.
Nano sim or micro sim card started with Apple phones and after that many brands used the same feature.
So, we use sim card what is that chip inside the sim card?
Basically, some data is present in that chip and that data authenticates that who are you?
As you insert the sim card inside the phone it collects information with the tower nearby you and your identity is set and company will recognizes who this subscriber is?
So, if anyone call to your number other person will able to recognize you that you are calling.SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) If you are a subscriber of a particular operator and you have purchased a mobile number sim is a module which tells your identity to everyone.
What is the problem with sim card?
It covers the lots of space, you need a mechanism in phone. Earlier we have to remove the battery and under battery there are sim slots.Â
Now as we have model smartphones now we need a proper sim tray to put sim inside the phone and if you want to put dual sim you need more space inside the phone and to read the sim your phone must have those components that read the data and recognizes your number. This is a very complex process as it covers lots of space.

Just like we store the data, in same way there it helps you to store all your data.
If we talk about new iPhones of Apple all the models of USA support e-sim only, there is no space to insert sim card inside the phone, because Apple knows what’s the need of a sim card that tray covers lots of space and by removing that tray company can place new components inside the phone.
If we talk about IP Rating of a phone so, if there is no tray in phone it will be easy to provide IP rating of the phone.
In India, in iPhones you will get a option of tray and even you can insert e sim inside the phone, same is with Google Pixel and Samsung too have the same feature.

Advantage of e-sim is that you can store multiple e-sim cards inside your phone.
For e.g. if Right now you use a dual sim rad phone, so you can insert two sim cards inside it let’s say Airtel & Jio and apart from that you too want to keep v! no. for any reason so you have to first remove one card insert other one there is a chance that it may get lost.
But, on the other hand if you have the option of e-sim what you can do you can store that inside your phone and you can activate it at any time.
Other main advantage is that if anyone snatches your phone and you have phone with normal sim card the person will easily take away your sim away and will throw it away.
But, if you have e-Sim in that case that person can’t do this, because if data is on in your phone still you can track your phone very easily.
Apart from that encryption in e-Sim card is much better then that of normal sim.
If we talk about disadvantages so, if you are a type of person that switches phone very early then things going to be little tough for you.
Because in normal sim you only have to take sim and insert it to new phone and its not that easy with e-Sim card as activation and transfer is not that easy with e-Sim card.
If you want to convert normal sim card to e-sim then sometimes you have to visit the store, even sometimes you have to e-mail for the process, so its a very complicated process.
But, if you change phones after along time period then you can keep the e-sim card if your phone have that option.
E-SIM is definitely the future though there are some complications it is not that popular till now, but in future when there is no sim tray in the phone then its popularity will take a hike.
From the safety point of view E-SIM is beneficial as if your phone get snatched by someone at that time you must have assurance that person can’t remove your sim and misuse it.
As we are growing so far in technology as we made charging wireless so why we should keep so big plastic piece inside our phone for such a basic work that’s the reason for e-sim.
